To avoid damaging the PMB-TCC when connecting to external volt-
age-sensing applications, it must be connected as shown in FIG. 3.

4.

If you are connecting a powered external device that will run on
12VDC (max. 700mA), connect the +12VDC lead and the GND lead
to the corresponding pins on the four-pin female Phoenix connector
(see previous step) and plug it into the Contact Phoenix connector on
the rear panel of the PMB-TCC.

5.

If you are using an optional Xantech external IR receiver instead of
the built-in IR receiver (this disables the built-in IR receiver), connect
the Xantech receiver as follows:

Cut off the plug that came with the Xantech IR receiver and strip

about 1/4 inch of insulation from the ends of the wire.

The receiver has three leads: Ground, +12V, and Output. The lead

with the white or red stripe is Output (signal), the middle lead is +12V,
and the third lead is Ground. Connect these leads to the correspond-
ing terminals on a three-pin female Phoenix connector and plug the
connector into the IR Phoenix connector on the rear panel.

6.

Insert the 12VDC power supply plug into the DC 12V receptacle on
the rear panel.

7.

Plug the power supply into a properly grounded 120VAC outlet. The
Power LED on the front panel should be illuminated.

8.

With the Landmark Designer software in Identify mode, press the ID
button on the front panel four times to send device ID information to
the Landmark system. This allows you to make the correct software
connection to this physical device.

The Link LED flashes when data is sent from the contact box regard-

ing a change of a relay state, when a command to get the state of the
relays is sent to the box from the Landmark system, and when an ID
signal is sent to the box from the Landmark system. The IR In and IR
Out LEDs flash whenever an IR command is received or sent.

Troubleshooting

If you are having difficulty receiving commands, check the following:

Make sure there is only one IR receiver per room, and that the IR

receiver in each room is not positioned so that it can receive signals
from a nearby room, or external sources of IR, such as the sun or
excessively bright fluorescent lighting. These include the PMB-IRI,
PMB-TCC, or the PLC-IRIN and any connected IR receivers.

Make sure none of the IR receivers are placed in locations that

receive direct or high levels of sunlight. Reposition if necessary.

Start Landmark Designer and monitor the PMB-TCC function in the

Network Log. Make a number of clean button-press commands. You
should see these come in on the correct port. Watch for any interfer-
ence from other ports.

Check the remote mode when comparing programming functions.

Make sure the mode matches the appropriate programming mode.
