Models 4500 MkII+ & Premier
Calibration Stands

Introduction
The calibration stand kit allows you to perform an off-stack calibration on
your Land opacity monitor. For installations subject to US EPA regulations,
this procedure must be carried out at least once every three years, in
accordance with 40 CFR60. Appendix F, Procedure 3.
Each kit includes a pair of calibration stands, a power supply and a suitable
connector.

Calibration kit 809807 is designed for use with the 4500 MkIII and
4200+ opacity monitors .
•
Calibration kit 810276 is designed for use with the 4500 MkII+ and
4500 Premier opacity monitors.
1.1 Instructions for 809807
(for use with 4500 MkIII and 4200+)
1) Switch off the power to the transceiver, usually at the AFU-APS-I/O.
2) Undo the clips from the transceiver purge and remove the transceiver.
3) Undo the clips from the retro-reflector purge and remove the retro-
reflector.
4) Take the transceiver and retro-reflector to a clean workshop.
5) Assemble the test stands as shown in Fig. 1 and use the clips to secure
each unit into its stand.

6) Determine the correct spacing for the stands. The distance between
the front faces of the stands (Fig. 2) should be equal to the installation
pathlength given on the Manufacturer’s Certificate of Conformity (MCOC) plus
252 mm (9.9 in).
