Conversion to Imperial rates and measurements
If you are still more familiar with the imperial rates of lbs/acres and of m.p.h.
the following simple conversion system will be of converiance to you: To find
the rate of lbs/acre deduct 11 % of the given rates in kg/ha (kilogrammes
per hectare). Example: CAN (Calcium Ammon. Nitr.) 27% N
Spread width:
12 m
Tractor speed:
12 k.p.h. (km/h)
Setting:
25
Spread rate:
148 kg/ha
Calculation:
10 % of 148 = 14.8
1 % of 150 = 1.5
11 % of 150 = 16.3
148.0 ./. 16.3 = 131.7 lbs/acre at 12 k.p.h. = 7.5 m.p.h.
