• Place the fan housing (A) next to a ceiling
joist or wall stud. The fan housing should
be level and perpendicular to the joist
or stud.
• Mount the fan housing (A) to the joist
using wood screws (E) where
indicated.
Make sure 7.5 in. side
of opening is flush with joist.
All work from this point on
should be completed from attic or space
above installation area. You may need a
second person below to hold fan housing
in place until secured.
Using a drywall saw or utility knife, cut
drywall or ceiling material out to make
the new size opening.

• All existing and new hole cut outs need to
be 7.3 in. x 7.5 in. For existing holes that
are smaller, enlarge hole to new size.
