5. Install the arm on the pinion shaft. Rotate the pinion
45° toward the hinge edge of the door to align the
main arm letter “B” (right hand door) or “A” (left
hand door) with the pinion flat. Fasten with the arm
screw.
6. Fasten the forearm to the PA plate using the screw
removed from foot in step 4 and the PA shoe
washer included in the screw pack.
7. Adjust the forearm length to set the arm elbow
about 1-1/2" (38 mm) from the door when
connected to the main arm. Use the washer and
screw provided to secure the pivot connection.
Tighten the locknut.
8. Install the cover.
9. Adjust the closer.

NOTICE
Do not back valves out of the closer or a
leak will result.
NOTICE
Adjust the closing speed time to between
4 to 6 seconds from 90°. Use of the door by disabled
persons, the elderly, or small children may require a
longer closing time.
NOTICE
The back check (“BC”) valve controls the
hydraulic resistance to the door opening in the back
check range. Never close this valve completely. It does
not serve to provide a positive stop.
