Calibrating the blank holder
The calibration process consists of two steps that
must be preformed one after the other.
1. Prepare the hybrid milling machine
2. Calibration of the blank holder
2.4.1 Preparation of the hybrid milling
machine
To ensure correct calibration of the blank holder:

Carry out auto-calibration: Follow the steps in
the Ceramill Motion 3 Service menu under
Cali-
bration.
▷
Perform the chuck cleaning: Follow the steps in
the Ceramill Motion 3 Service menu under
Clean
chuck.
2.4.2 Calibration of the workpiece holder

▷
Insert blank holder (without fixation plate and
screws) into the material changer.
▷
Insert tool Roto RFID 1.2 ST (751001) into the
tool magazine.
The hybrid milling machine carries out an inven-
tory run of the tool magazine.
▷
Start the hybrid milling machine software on the
PC.
▷
Switch to calibration folder by clicking on
Cali-
bration button.
NOTE:
Insufficient milling results when using in other
hybrid milling machines!
The workpiece holder is individually calibrated to
the respective hybrid milling machine.
▷
Afterwards, do not use the holder in other
hybrid milling machines.
NOTE:
Danger of tool breakage!
Calibration with the fixation plate screwed on
will lead to cutter breakage and incorrect cali-
bration.
▷
Loosen screws and remove fixation plate.
