Searching for a desired Music File
An iPod/iPhone can contain thousands of songs. The unit for this reason
can make various searches using the search function as shown below.
Using the Playlist/Artist/Album/Podcast/Audiobook/Genre/Composer/
Song search mode’s individual hierarchy, you can narrow down your
search as shown in the table below.

For example: Searching by Artist name
The following example explains how an Artists search is performed.
Another search mode can be used for the same operation, although the
hierarchy differs.

Touch [
(Search)] during playback.
The Music search mode screen appears.

Touch [Artists].
The Artists search screen is displayed.

Touch the desired artist.
The Album search screen of the selected artist is displayed.
Touching the desired artist for at least 1 second will play
back all songs of the selected artist.

Touch the desired album.
The Song search screen of the selected album is displayed.
Touching the desired album for at least 1 second will play
back all songs of the selected album.

Touch the desired song.
The selected song is played back.

Touching [All] will display all songs in the list when you are in a
hierarchy with an asterisk “*” (see “MUSIC Search Menu” table on
this page).

To return to the previous hierarchy, touch [Undo].
•
