If the DLM-600 is equipped with an optional plug-on speech board (art.code. 004162), then events can
be reported as speech messages to private (mobile) telephone numbers. First tick the box ‘Speech
board installed’. The speech messages can be recorded with a simple recording application within the
AlphaTool software in the 'Voice' tab.
The recording application within AlphaTool uses the existing sound card in the computer / laptop that
AlphaTool is installed on. Some computers / laptops come standard with an integrated microphone and
speakers. If this is not the case, then using the existing connections on the computer / laptop to connect
an external microphone and speakers.
Before you can start recording voice messages for the DLM-600, first check to see whether the standard
Windows 'Sound Recorder' application works correctly. The sound recorder application in Windows XP
can be found under
Accessories / Entertainment
.
The Sound Recorder application in Windows makes it possible to record and / or play .wav files. It is
absolutely imperative that the standard sound recorder application works correctly on the computer /
laptop, otherwise it is not possible to record speech messages for the DLM-600.
