KEYPAD INSTALLATION
For the AlphaVision NG control panel two keypads are available. These are the LCD and the LED keypads.
The LCD keypad can also be delivered with an integrated proximity reader, for arming/disarming the system
with a proximity tag. Connections and dipswitch settings of the AlphaVision LCD/PROX keypad are
identical to the regular LCD keypad. All explanations on display information and status LED’s in this
manual are for the regular LCD keypad.
All components of the AlphaVision NG system are meant for indoor usage and temperature range from 0-50
degrees Celcius. Only the NG Prox Reader can be used outdoor with a temperature range of minus 20 up to
plus 50 degrees Celcius.
A keypad is connected to the RS-485 bus. It also gets its power supply from the RS-485 bus. Set the keypad
address to the first available address. The keypad’s factory default setting is address 1. See appendix A
“dipswitch settings” for the correct address settings.
ATTENTION:
Keypad dipswitch settings are different from expansion module dipswitch settings. See
appendix A “dipswitch settings and keypad address instructions”.

The dipswitch consists of four switches of which the first three are used for the address setting. The fourth
switch is used to set the volume of the internal buzzer. Setting the fourth switch to the OFF position will
reduce the buzzer’s volume by half.
When the keypad is connected to the 0V and +12V only, the following report will appear on the display:
