angular offset
and enter the measured wavelength value for the current settings in the
dialog window (see Fig. 2.5). The software will calculate the corresponding angular
offset and correct accordingly.

To download the calibration file which is currently being used by the system, click
Download
and follow the instructions in your browser’s download window.
To upload a new calibration file, click
Select file
and select a file using the browse
window of your browser. The name of the file that you selected will then appear in the
administrator window. Click
Upload
to upload the file.
An example of calibration file is shown in Fig. 2.6. The file should consist of two
columns labeled
angle [units]
and
wavelength [units]
with a comma separator and
should be saved in .csv format. Units should be specified in square brackets [].
Allowed units are [deg] and [rad] for angles, and [um], [nm], and [cm-1] for wave-
lengths/wavenumbers. Linear interpolation is used between points therefore, for im-
proved tuning precision, the calibration file should provide a dense spectral coverage
of the laser tuning range.

2.3.3 Instrument control screen
To access the instrument control screen (Fig. 2.7), click
Start devices
on the start
screen. The control screen is divided into three parts: rotation stage controls are
