Three LED’s indicate the operational status of the receiver:

Lights up if the receiver is operating in the free-running mode. Will
go out if a sufficient number of satellites has been detected to
ensure synchronisation.
In addition the FREE-LED indicates with a blinking in five-second intervals the exact status of
synchronization.
