You should not install the switches on a wall that has metal studs.
Metal studs may not be strong enough to safely support the device.
You should not install the switch on sheetrock or similar material.
Sheetrock might not be strong enough to safely support the device.

avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment.

The device should be installed on a wall by a qualified building
contractor. Serious injury to yourself or others or damage to the
equipment may result if it is improperly fastened to the wall.

Here are the required tools and material for installing the switch on a wall:
One AT-BRKT-J24 wall brackets kit (sold separately).
Four wall anchors and screws (not provided) The diameter of the
screw holes in the brackets is 5mm.
Cross-head screwdriver (not provided).
Stud finder for a wooden wall, capable of identifying the middle of
wall studs and hot electrical wiring (not provided).
Drill and 1/4-inch carbide drill bit for a concrete wall (not provided).
Plywood base if you are installing the switch on a wall with wooden
studs (not provided.) Refer to “Plywood Base for a Wall with
Wooden Studs” on page 88 for illustrations.
Four screws to attach the plywood base to the wall (not provided).
