If you are ready to attach the fiber optic cable to the transceiver,
continue with the next step. Otherwise, repeat steps 1 to 4 to install
the remaining transceivers in the switch.
5. Remove the dust cover from the transceiver. Refer to Figure 86.

6. Verify the position of the handle on the transceiver. If the transceiver is
in a top port, the handle should be in the upright position, as shown in
Figure 87. If the transceiver is in a bottom port, the handle should be in
the down position.

7. Connect the fiber optic cable to the transceiver, as shown in Figure 88
on page 191. The connector on the cable should fit snugly into the
port, and the tab should lock the connector into place.
