Section 4 Service Procedures
To reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, explosion, serious injury or death:
• Disconnect electric power to the dryer(s) before servicing.
• Close gas shut-off valve to gas dryer(s) before servicing.
• Never start the dryer(s) with any guards/panels removed.
• Whenever ground wires are removed during servicing, these ground wires must be
reconnected to ensure that the dryer is properly grounded.

To Test Timer Contacts (Nonmetered Models)
Refer to Figure 8
1. Disconnect electrical service to dryer.
2. Remove control panel, set timer in position
calling for heat and disconnect all wires except
timer motor.
NOTE: Refer to appropriate wiring diagram
when rewiring switch.
3. Set test meter to read ohms and apply meter
probes to terminals:
a. L1 and M to test drive motor circuit – should
get “zero” reading – “no reading” in off.
b. L1 and H to test Heat Circuit – should get
“zero” reading – “no reading” in cool-down
or off.
c. L1 and N to test timer motor – should get
approximately 1100 ohms. Can also
disconnect timer motor leads and apply live
power. Timer motor should run.
NOTE: Timer motor power is supplied through
M terminal.
