Scanner Status
After reading this chapter you should be able to write code that:
checks the current operating status of the scanner
checks the current operating status of any adapter on the remote I/O link
makes sure the scanner is still active
lets the scanner know that your program is still active
You should also be able to:
diagnose the cause of an unrecoverable error
understand LEDs (light emitting diodes)
The scanner maintains status information in the dual port that the host may
use to monitor the state of scanner and adapter operation. The scanner
updates this information as its state changes. The hardware register on the
KTx card holds data about the current hardware status.
