Opening for
cable routing
b.
Drill holes in the mounting surface where needed for the fasteners and cable routing.
c.
If using conduit to protect the cables routed into the camera, attach the conduit adapter to
the camera end of the conduit, and then slip the conduit adapter into the adapter bracket
on the mounting plate.

d.
Attach the adapter plate to the mounting surface using four screws.
2.
To attach the adapter plate to a gang box. NOTE:
The mounting surface must be
able to support at least four times the weight of the gang box with the camera.
a.
Install the gang box in the appropriate location. The adapter plate can be secured to a
single- or double-gang box.
b.
Remove the cover screws from the gang box.
c.
Align the screw holes in the adapter plate with the cover screw holes in the gang box, and
then secure the plate to the box with the cover screws removed previously. For a double-
gang box, use the screws through holes in the plate marked “
2
”. For a single-gang box,
use the screws through the holes in the plate marked “
1
”.
3.
Route the interface cables into adapter plate through the conduit, gang box or mounting surface.
Install the junction box
To install the junction box, first insert the interface cables through the sealing plugs in the junction box,
and then attach the junction box to the adapter plate.
1.
Attach the ground cable to the ground terminal in the junction box. See the photo on page 1 of
this guide for the terminal location.
2.
Remove the largest sealing plug from the junction box. This plug will be used for the LAN cable.
3.
To install the sealing plug on the LAN cable:
a.
Clip the insertion tool provided onto the RG-45 connector of the LAN cable. See
a.
b.
Force the insertion tool with the LAN cable through the sealing plug. Observe the
orientation of the sealing plug in the drawing below. See

4.
Using the previous steps as a guide, use the insertion tool to install the power, audio and alarm
cables through the sealing plugs in the junction box. See below.
5.
Reattach the junction box to the adapter plate. Ensure that the adapter plate and junction box are
securely mounted.
Install the camera
1.
Hook the safety cable on the junction box onto the tang in the camera module, and then allow
the camera to hang freely.

2.
Attach the interface cables to the connectors on the camera module. See photo above for
connector identification.
CAUTION
When attaching wires to the connector block:
• Observe the polarity embossed on the connector block for the DC12V leads.
• Connect the alarm input leads to the alarm terminals marked
I
and
G
. Connect the alarm
output leads to the alarm terminals marked
O
and
G
.
3.
Attach the other interface cables to the connectors on the camera connector block.
4.
Reattach the camera body to the junction box. Do not reattach the dome assembly at this time.
5.
Apply power to the camera through the 12 Vdc power cable or PoE injector, as configured.
Step 3. Install the Alibi Config Tool software
NOTE:
If the camera LAN extension cable is attached to a Network Video Recorder (NVR), skip this step.
The Alibi Config Tool is a PC-based network utility for discovery of Alibi compatible devices. It provides
an easy way to activate devices, configure camera and recorder network configuration settings, and set
device passwords. It can be installed on a Microsoft® Windows® operating system that has direct access
to the network where your Alibi devices are installed. You can download the Alibi Configuration Tool
