Dip the tube into the bubble mix and blow a bubble. Transfer the

bubble to the BIG wand and turn so that the bubble hangs down. Can

you fill the big bubble with little bubbles? Dip the tube into the mix,

gently poke it into the bubble and blo-o-o-o-w!

HOW IT WORKS

A drop of water is fragile and easily bursts. When you add soap or another synthetic cleaning product to the water, the surface of the drop gets

stronger. The soap or cleaning product reduces the surface tension of the water.

Stand in a place where there is no breeze or draught and where there is strong light coming from one side.  Blow a bubble and look at it in

the light. Do you see the colourful, shimmering band swirling across the surface of the bubble? The inner and outer surfaces of the bubble reflect

the light, just like two mirrors. The rays of light ’disturb’ each other and are refracted (bent) into colours, depending on how strong the surface

tension is.   What happens when you see black bands on your bubble? The bubble bursts!

for the intended purpose. Do not let the fluid come into contact with the eyes. Read the instructions

carefully before use. Save this information for future reference.

WARNING!

Not suitable for children under 3 years due to small parts. Choking hazard! Not for human

consumption. Do not leave child unattended while using the product. Soap bubbles may stain

certain fabrics.

PLAY IT SAFE!

Blowing soap bubbles indoors can make

smooth floors slippery. Outdoors is the best

place to play with BUBBLE MAKER LAB.  Stay out

of the wind and preferably in a place that is free

of dust and not slippery.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Why does the bubble burst on the glove?

The glove may be soiled. Wash the gloves in

warm water with a couple of drops of washing-

up liquid. Wring out and shake dry. Avoid

touching the gloves with greasy or dirty hands.

Why does the bubble burst immediately?

Dust and draughts affect how long the bubbles

will last. TIPS Use the tube to blow the bubble.

Transfer the bubble to the wand when you do

the experiments.

Dip the SMALL wand into the bubble mix (or use the tube) and blow a

big bubble. Turn the wand so that the bubble hangs down. Dip the tube

and blow a new bubble, either through the opening in the wand or

under the first bubble. (Wait a second so that the bubbles settle down.)

Dip the tube again and add the next bubble. How many bubbles long

did your Bubble Caterpillar turn out to be?

Dip the BIG wand into the bubble mix (or use the tube) and blow a

hanging bubble. Dip the tube and hold it an an angle against the

surface of the bubble. Blow a row of little bubbles, using the same

pressure. The new bubbles should lay OUTSIDE the big bubble.  Make

the whole bubble nest spin by adding row after row of little bubbles

in an even flow. Remember to dip the tube into the mix between the

bubble flows!

Dip the BIG wand into the bubble mix (or use the tube) and blow a

hanging bubble. Blow straight onto your bubble with short, quick puffs

of air. Can you blow a new, little bubble inside the big one?

TIPS

Try a similar trick: Carefully poke the tube into the bubble and

blow with short, hard puffs of air inside the bubble. Can you make new

little bubbles come out of the big one, as if by magic?

Both players should put on a clean and dry ball glove. Blow a medium-

size bubble and pass it back and forth. Play with an open hand and hit

the bubble gently - otherwise it will burst. The current record in Bubble

Volleyball is 36 passes!  How many times can you and your friend pass

the bubble? Good luck!

Is there any such thing as square bubbles? Find out! Dip the BIG wand into the bubble mix and

blow an entire nest of hanging bubbles.  Poke the tube into the middle of the bubble nest and

blow a ... square bubble! Why? Bubbles would rather be round because they longer. But when

bubbles of the same size meet, well, this is what happens!
