Manage messages
When receiving a message, an icon
will appear on the status bar as
notification. Drag down the status bar to open the Notification panel,
touch the new message to open and read it. You can also access the
Messaging application and touch the message to open.
Messages are displayed in conversational order.
To reply to a message, touch the current message to enter message-
composing screen, enter the text, then touch
Send
.
To return to the message list from a text message thread, press
Menu
key
and then touch
More\All threads
.
Touch and hold a message in message details screen. The following message
options are available for selection:

Lock/Unlock
message
Touch to lock/unlock the message so it can/can’t
be deleted if you reach maximum number of
stored messages.
•
Call XXX
Touch to call the message sender.
•
Add XXX to
Contacts
(1)
Touch to save the number to Contacts.
•
Forward
Touch to forward the message to another recipient.
•
Copy message
text
This option displays when the message is an SMS.
Copy the current message content. You can paste
it to the enter bar of the new message you are
going to compose.
•
View message
details
Touch to view details of the message.
•
Delete message
Delete the current message.

Option will not appear unless the number is not saved in the Contacts.
Receiving CMAS Alerts Messages
Commercial Mobile Alert System (CMAS) service allows you to receive
automatic alerts in times of crisis. (e.g., earthquake, hurricanes, etc.) To
activate CMAS alerts, from the Home screen, press
Menu
key
\Setting\
CMAS alerts
, mark the check box of
CMAS Alerts Enable.
Tap CMAS alerts message you want to view. CMAS alert messages are
indicated with
CMAS alert icon.
•
If CMAS alert arrives on your phone during a call,
is displayed in
the Status bar. If Presidential, CMAS icon flashes. If non-Presidential,
CMAS icon is static icon.
•
ONLY the Presidential CMAS icon is displayed under the Time/Date on
the unlock/lock screen.
•
If you are on a CMAS screen in the Messaging application, the following
options are removed or disabled:
Reply
,
Forward
,
and
Call
.
•
If you have power cycled your phone and a Presidential Alert has NOT
been viewed, the Presidential CMAS icon will continue to flash when
the device is powered on again.
