UNPACKING
The following items should be included in the box, please make sure all pieces are
present.
1- Base dolly including wheels and plastic pail stabilizing screws along with
hardware for attaching support pole and gun hook.
2-
“U”
shaped support pole.
3- Pump base plate with pump, regulator, dual hoses, and spray gun already
assembled.
ASSEMBLY
1- Push wheels into sockets on base of Dolly. Thread the large grey stabilizing
screws into the side of the dolly. Place dolly on floor and lock wheels to keep it from
moving during assembly process.
2- Insert support pole through the two outer holes in the
pump base plate.
Slide it up past the two push locking buttons on the tube
(fig 1.)
3- Insert the gun hook through the upper hole on side of the U tube from the outside.
Adjust the plane nut so that approx. ¼” inch of threads extends on the inside of the U
pole. Use the Castle nut to tighten the hook in place (Fig 2) For a 2 Spray gun system
two hooks are supplied-Instal one on each side of the U pole
4- To attach the support pole to the dolly, align the two holes on both sides of the U
pole with the matching holes on the dolly. Push a screw through from inside of the
dolly to the tubes. Use large spacer on top and a small spacer on the bottom
between the outer wall of the dolly and the inside of the tube.
Secure all four nuts in place on the outside. See (fig 3)
5- Feed the braided suction tube through the large hole in the
pump plate so that it will align with the cap of the glue bucket.
(fig 4)
6- Connect air source to the regulator using a 1/4" pipe thread
male connector (not provided).
Teflon tape on all connections is strongly recommended.
OPERATION
1-Raise the base plate and lock in the upright position to install the 5-gallon pail of Albatross
Safe-T-Tack Adhesive
2- Unseal and open the pour spout on top of the pail.
3- Position the 5-gallon pail in the dolly so the suction tube is over the pour spout. Insert
suction tube in pour spout.
4- Press the locking buttons on support pole and lower base plate so it sits on top of the pail.
5- Roll the APS System to your desired location near loading station.
6- Priming the unit:
A- turn on air supply
B- adjust regulator to 40 psi The pump should now be cycling and you will hear a
clicking sound-this will stop once primed. Make sure the valve on the adhesive side
of the pump is open.
C- the spray gun has two adjustment controls. The smaller knob is the air/spray
adjustment control, while the larger knob controls the flow. Turn the smaller job all
the way clockwise until it stops. The air is now off. Open up the larger knob 2 or 3
turns (counter-clockwise) to allow the system to prime. Directing the gun into a
trash can or old cardboard box, squeeze the trigger all the way in and hold it until
adhesive starts to come out of the nozzle. It should be a straight stream. Release it
when adhesive comes out.
D- Turn the smaller knob all the way out counter clockwise and then turn the larger
knob in clockwise until it stops. If you squeeze the trigger now, no glue will come
out.
E- holding the gun 6-
9” above a piece of cardboard open the large knob ½ a turn
counter clockwise-squeeze the trigger and you should get a very fine mist of
adhesive. The nozzle has a flat fan pattern. This can be set to be vertical or
horizontal by rotating the air cap at the front of the gun. If more glue is desired
open the large knob in ¼ turn increments.
REMEMBER-LESS IS MORE WITH THE APS GLUE SYSTEM.
