Hints and Tips
MP3.
When MP3 files are encoded, in most cases they are encoded at 128 K bits per
second “Kbps”. The “Bit rate” determines the sound quality, i.e. the higher the bit rate the
better the quality. However you may decide that quantity rather than quality is required.
Typically MP3’s converted at 128Kbps will have a file size of 4 – 5 megabits, depending
upon the length of the song. Thus 1000 megabits divided by 5 megabits = 200 tracks or
songs. However if the MP3 files are encoded at 48 Kbps then the number of tracks would
be increased by X3 thus approximately 600 tracks could be stored. The quality at 48
Kbps is not significantly degraded for this type of player.
WMA Files
. When downloading WMA files, all have a “Key” “DRM10” that only allows the
owner to play the files on that PC. These files will NOT play on this player.
