Bit Depth
Choose from Auto, 8-bit, or 10-bit. Choosing “Auto” automatically selects the
bit depth based on the input video and the attached device’s capabilities. High
frame rate (HFR) 4K/UltraHD 4:4:4 limited to 8 bits.
RGB Range
Choose Auto, SMPTE or Full. Choosing “Auto” automatically selects the RGB
output color range setting.
4K/2K Crop
Choose Auto, Off, or On. Provides the option of center cutting 2048x1080
video signals to make 1920x1080, or center cutting 4096x2160 signals to make
3840x2160.
Color Dithering
Choose Off or On.
HDMI/DVI
Choose Auto, HDMI, or DVI. When DVI is selected, any audio signals present are
not passed. Choosing “Auto” automatically selects the output mode based on the
attached device’s capabilities.
4K/UHD HFR Mode
Choose Frame Drop or 4:2:0.
• Frame Drop, the default setting, makes the Hi5-4K drop every other frame of
an incoming 50/59.94/60 frame rate to output at 25/29.97/30p.
• The 4:2:0 setting provides 50/59.94/60p frame rate output for a
3840x2160p50/59.94/60 input. If the SDI input is 4K or UHD and high frame
rate (HFR: 50/59.94/60), the input data rate (12Gb/s) is too high for HDMI 1.4
(which is limited to 10.2Gbps). To accommodate this, the Hi5-4K will reduce
the HDMI output data rate by dropping every other video frame or by
reducing the color information by using YCbCr 4:2:0 8 bit sampling as defined
in HDMI 2.0.
