INSTALLATION
1. The sound cover has its own power supply cord. This cord is located on the rear panel of the
AirStar 50 sound cover and found on the left side sound cover panel of the AirStar 10, 12, 21,
22, 30 and 40 models. Remove the protective plug on the rear of the AirStar electrical box
exposing the 7/8" opening. Remove the strain relief nut on power cord then pass power cord
through 7/8" opening and tighten strain relief nut to secure wire. Connect the sound cover
power cord as per the wiring diagram below. If needed use the cable clamp with adhesive to
secure the cable.
Note:
The power supply cord for the sound cover must be connected or the unit will thermally overload.
2. The fan(s) inside the sound cover are controlled by a thermostat. The thermostat turns the fans on
when the temperature inside the sound cover exceeds 110°F (±5%).When the temperature drops
lower than 90°F (±5%) the fans turn off
3. With the compressor running at a 50% duty cycle, the fans will be ready to turn on, if needed,
within 20 minutes.
Note:
If the compressor is running at a high duty cycle once the fans turn on, they may not turn
off until the duty cycle is reduced. If the compressor is running at a low duty cycle, the fans
may not turn on. The AirStar 10, 12, 21 and 22 only require one fan.
