3. If you have selected the back of the hood for electrical
connection, you will have to remove the desired electrical
knockout by inserting a flat head screwdriver into the center slot
of the knockout and prying back and forth continuously until the
knockout is free. In the vertical position, a hole already exists.
4. Install an approved electrical connector into the knockout and
secure it into the hood.
Blower Installation
When reinstalling the blower into the hood, you will have to
mount the blower in the same direction you have ducted it.
For Ducted Installations
1. Install the blower into the hood in the direction you have
ducted, horizontal or vertical.
2. Place the blower mounting brackets (brackets on either side of
the blower outlet) over the blower mounting studs on the range
hood. Note: Support the blower in position by hand until it is
firmly secured.
3. Using the 4 nuts removed earlier, secure the blower in place.
Start the nuts by hand first, then tighten down with a

1. Install the self adhesive foam (provided) around the grill
opening on the inside of the hood (fig. 6).

5. Remove the range hood’s vent insert from behind the grill on
the outside of the range hood (fig. 3).
6. Plug the blower into the appropriate connector on the side of
the wire compartment.
Hood Installation
1. Lift the hood up into position, then guide the electrical cable
through the electrical connector and secure it in the connector.
Make sure you leave enough cable in the hood to make electrical
connections.
2. Install the four mounting screws from the bottom of the range
hood into the 4 keyhole mounting holes. Fasten the screws
securely. With the screws tightened down and the hood in the
proper position, the four screws in the keyhole slots should be in
the narrow section of the keyholes.
3. Make the necessary electrical connections. White from the
house to the white of the range hood, black from the house to
the black of the range hood, green or bare copper ground from
the house to the unused green ground screw on the range hood.
Use approved electrical connectors and secure the connections
with electrical tape. All wiring must comply with national and
local code regulations. ALWAYS PROPERLY GROUND THIS
RANGE HOOD.
4. Reinstall the range hood’s wire compartment cover and secure
into place using the screw removed earlier.
5. Attach the house’s duct work to the damper frame and seal all
joints with duct tape.
Completing the Installation
1. With the hood securely installed, all the necessary electrical
and ducting connections made and the blower mounted in the
proper position, you can reinstall the hood’s bottom cover (fig. 1)
and secure it in place with the four screws removed earlier.
2. Reinstall the range hood’s filters.
3. Install one 60 watt (max.) bulb into the lamp holder and
reinstall the lamp cover by squeezing the cover’s sides. The tabs
on the lamp cover will fit into slots on the range hood.
4. Turn the range hood’s switches to the off position and then
turn on the power to the unit and test your installation. If you
hear any vibration noise or rattling, try to eliminate by tightening
fastener or adding duct tape. In some cases it will be beneficial to
remove the range hood’s aluminum damper.
