A console window is opened and requests a login to the ANET. Enter the user name
(‘user’ is the factory default) and password (‘aim’ is the factory default) in order to get
the ANET system prompt. The Linux ‘pwd’ command prints the current working directory
which is /home/user. For this enter pwd and hit ‘ENTER’. Please note that multiple SSH
client sessions to the ANET can be opened concurrently.

For a verification of the installed Python version simply enter python followed by ENTER
and the Python shell is started (see e.g. Version 2.7.2 in Figure 4-7). The Python shell

4.4.3 Transfer of Python Scripts to the ANET429
For transferring self-developed Python scripts to ANET devices for execution, using
Secure Copy (SCP) client is necessary. Exemplary, this section will describe the
transfer of Python scripts from a Windows OS based host PC to the ANET for later
execution.
The file transfer from a Windows OS based PC can be done via the freeware SCP tool
WinSCP. Start the tool and enter the necessary connection parameters for your ANET
device (see Figure 4-8)
When using a Linux OS based host PC, the command line tool scp, which is included in
most standard distributions, can be used to transfer files to ANET devices. Refer to the
man pages of your system for more information.
