7.5.3 How to establish a Connection via an Ethernet
Network
The IP address of the wireless ALMEMO
®
data logger is preset as a
dynamic IP address. When connecting to an Ethernet network, the
data logger receives an IP address from the DHCP server.
In some Ethernet networks, static IP addresses are required. If
required, ask your IT department to provide you with a static IP
address for the wireless ALMEMO
®
data logger that is adapted to
your network and set this address in your data logger (see chapter
8.1.11 How to set a Static or Dynamic IP Address).
!
The data logger needs to be switched off.
1. Connect an Ethernet data cable with the Ethernet socket
9
of the data
logger and with the Ethernet socket of a router connected to the
Ethernet network, to which the PC is connected.
2. Switch the data logger on.
➢
In the menu Settings >Device Settings>Communication, the current IP
address will be displayed.

470 MeshViewer software.
Switch the Ethernet network while the data logger is switched on
In some cases it might be necessary to switch the Ethernet network
while the data logger is switched on, e.g. when a measurement is
running. In case the IP address of the data logger is set to dynamic,
the network connection must be restarted.
1. Connect the Ethernet data cable with the Ethernet socket
9
of the
data logger and with the Ethernet socket of the router connected to
the desired Ethernet network.
2. In the home screen, tap on Settings
.
