5. Maintenance

Wear safety gloves when
working on the cutter bar!
Removing the knife
Loosen the hex nuts (1) on the knife
holders (2). Then remove the knife hold-
ers and the knife (3).
Fitting the knife
After cleaning the knives thoroughly and
applying some Bio-lubricating grease (in
particular to the gliding faces and attach-
ment areas on the knife holder):

Replace knife and knife holder; the
hex nuts must turn easily. If this is not
the case oil them.

Adjust the knife holder

On cutter bars equipped with 4
knife holders adjust the two
middle holders first!
l
Slightly tighten the hex nut (1) with 2
fingers while your other hand oscillates
the knife (3) as indicated by the arrow
l
Place a slightly angled ring spanner
at an angle of about 45° on the nut and
oscillate the knife with both hands while
you press on it. While you are doing this,
the ring spanner will move through the
angle. If this is not enough, place the
spanner again on the nut and repeat the
procedure.

Tighten hex nut (1)

Then adjust the remaining knife hold-
ers in the same way
