BLADE SHARPENING
To maintain a proper blade balance, always sharpen both ends of the blade equally. Follow the sharpening
pattern as shown in figure below. Do not sharpen the blades to a razor edge, but leave a 1/32” blunt edge.
Never sharpen the back side of the blades.
Hold the end of the blade using heavy leather gloves.
DRIVE BELT ADJUSTMENT:
• Shut off the mower and tractor.
• Loosen all four nuts (Ref No. 1) on the gear box slide plate (Ref No. 2)(See figure below)
• Loosen jam nut (Ref No. 3) on the tension adjustment bolt (Ref No. 4 )
• Tighten adjustment bolt (Ref No. 4) until the belt deflection along the front side of the belts (Ref No. 5 & 6)
is 3/4” when approximately 10 pounds of pressure is applied to the center of the belt length.
• Do not over tighten belts
• Tighten jam nut (Ref No. 3) and nuts (Ref No. 1) on gearbox slide plate.
OBEY ALL SAFETY WARNINGS!!
WARNING!
Avoid personal injury! Always support or block the mower when servicing the blades, carrier or any other
component on the underside of the deck.
