Removal Procedure
for this procedure.
1.
”Assembly Installation and Removal Overview” on page 4-2
, and complete the
”Assembly Removal and Installation Procedure”
.
2.
Disconnect the power cord.
3.
Remove the covers from the signal generator. Refer to
.
4.
Remove the rear panel from the signal generator. Refer to
”Rear Panel (N5183A)” on page 3-26
NOTE
The rear panel must be removed to allow the pin connector on the A7 Micro Deck to be disconnected from the A3 RF assembly
without damaging the connector pins.
5.
Using a 5/16” open-ended wrench, disconnect one end of the following cables, see
to determine which end to disconnect.
W12 semi-rigid cable from the A3 RF assembly.
W13 semi-rigid cable from the A3 RF assembly.
6.
Using a 5/16” open-ended wrench, disconnect the following semi-rigid cable according to the signal generator you have.
520 with a 3.5mm RF connector: W10 from the mechanical attenuator (1).
520 with a Type-N RF connector: W11 from the mechanical attenuator (1).
532/540: W9 from the mechanical attenuator (1).
7.
Disconnect W14 from A7J15.
8.
Disconnect W15 from A7J14.
9.
Using the T-10 driver, remove the eight screws (2) that secure the A7 Micro Deck to the chassis.
10. Remove the A7 Micro Deck.
Replacement Procedure
for this procedure.
1.
Using the T-10 driver, remove the five screws (3) that secure the replacement A7 Micro Deck to the shipping chassis.
2.
Carefully slide the replacement A7 Micro Deck out of the shipping chassis.
3.
Reverse the order of the removal procedure.
4.
Torque all screws to 9 in–lbs.
5.
Perform the post-repair performance tests that pertain to this replacement procedure, see
Chapter 4, Post-Repair Procedures and
.
6.
Slide the old A7 Micro Deck into the shipping chassis.
7.
Secure it to the shipping chassis by installing the five screws removed in
.
NOTE
If you lose any screws there are five extra screws located on one end of the shipping chassis.
8.
Torque all screws to 9 in–lbs.
9.
Return the A7 Micro Deck to Agilent Technologies. See
”Shipping a Defective Assembly Back to Agilent Technologies” on page 2-1
