Mark the nut with a pencil line (see Figure 20 ).

For 1/8-inch Swagelok fittings, use a pair of wrenches to
tighten the fitting 3/4 of a turn (see
Figure 21 ).

Remove the plug from the fitting. To connect the tubing, with
nut and ferrules, to another fitting, finger-tighten the nut,
then use a wrench to tighten it 3/4 (1/8-inch fittings) of a
turn.

Both correctly- and incorrectly-swaged connections are
shown in
Figure 22 . Note that the end of the tubing in a
correctly-swaged fitting is not crushed and does not interfere
with the action of the ferrules.
