Disturbance of the source due to reflections is reduced because the patchcord uses
a high return loss connector.
The setup described uses a fiber with Diamond HMS-10/Agilent/HRL and
Diamond HMS-10/Agilent connectors throughout.

Making sure to clean all the connectors, set up the instrument as shown in the
Figure 87. Connect the source to the HP 81534A Input. Attach the high return
loss connector of the patchcord to the Output. The high return loss connector
on these cables is the connector with the orange sleeve. For best results and
higher repeatability, fix the cables.
