Check that the ON/OFF switch is set to OFF.

Back off the 4 screws

Open the cover of the unit.
4.
Remove the strip of Mylar inserted between the terminals of the
battery
C
and the contacts of the battery-holder.
5.
Replace the cover of the unit and re-insert the four screws
