Step 3: Prepare the exposure
1.
In the operator room, position the X-Ray system, the patient and the
cassette:
a) To position the X-Ray system automatically, press and hold the
AUTOCENTER button on the automatic positioning control box.
The X-Ray system moves to the default position for the selected
exposure.
b) To position the X-Ray system manually, use the control buttons on the
control panel.

Position the patient:
a) Position the cassette.
Note
:
For a free exposure, partial lead covering of the
cassette may be required if multiple images are taken on
one cassette.

:
For a bucky exposure, always insert an unexposed
cassette in the bucky.
b) Position the patient.
c) Check if the X-Ray system position is suitable for the exposure.
d) Make final adjustments to the position of the X-Ray system using the
control buttons on the control panel.
e) Position the X-Ray tube with respect to the cassette and the patient.
f) Set the correct distance between cassette and X-Ray tube.
g) Switch on the light localizer on the collimator. Adapt collimation if
required.
WARNING:
Monitor the patient position (hands, feet, fingers, etc.) with
special care to avoid injury to the patient caused by unit
movements. Patient hands must be kept away from mobile
components of the unit. Intravenous tubing, catheters and other
patient connected lines should be routed away from moving
equipment.
