C.5 Checking the external supply and waste tanks
Before each dispensing run, make sure that there is enough Type 1, >18.2 M
Ω
water in
the external supply tank. One 384 SpectroCHIP Array requires approximately 0.3 gallons
(1.14 liters) of water. It is recommended that the external supply tank have at least three
gallons (11.4 liters) at the start of a run as a precaution against running out of water during
the run.
NOTE
If the instrument indicates low supply water, fill the internal supply tank manually. See
for
instructions.
Before each dispensing run, make sure that there is enough space in the external waste
tank to complete the run. One 384 SpectroCHIP Array produces approximately 0.3
gallons of waste water.
As a precaution against waste tank overflow, it is strongly recommended you make sure
that the waste tank capacity is equal to the current water volume in the supply tank. For
example, if the supply tank contains four gallons of water, the waste tank should have
capacity to accept four gallons of waste water.
Filling an external
supply tank
1.
Remove the lid from the tank.
If the supply tubing is routed through the lid, make sure that the tubing does not

2.
