• 13 knives in one group
• XtraCut 17 has an eight knife group and a nine knife group
• XtraCut 25 has a 12 knife group and a 13 knife group.
2.3.9 Feed Channel Floor
The feed channel floor will tilt down hydraulically when you use the controller and the double acting valve
on the tractor. You can tilt the feed channel floor when a large volume of crop material causes a blockage to
the unit. When you tilt the feed channel floor, more space is available for the crop material to go into the
bale chamber.
2.3.10 Bale Chamber
The bale chamber has 18 rollers (RPC 130 F) or four belts (RPC 160 V) that rotate.
The crop material enters the chamber and rotates with the rollers or belts.
While the bale rotates more crop material is added.
Rollers make sure that the pressure on the belts is sufficient for the necessary bale density.
The density and the diameter (only RPC 160 V) of the bale is done on the controller.
The drive to the machine is from the Power Take-Off (PTO) shaft through the gearbox and chains.
2.3.11 Tying Unit
The tying unit has a net roll unit. The tying unit will wind net around the bale when the bale is at its
completed dimension. For the net roll unit you can set the number of layers on the controller.
When the tractor has no movement the tie procedure can be done in the bale chamber. When the set
number of winds is done, the net knife cuts the net.
The net unit is adjustable to net rolls with:
• A width of 1.20 m to 1.30 m (3.9 ft to 4.3 ft)
• A net length of 2000 m to 4500 m (6562 ft to 14764 ft)
• A diameter up to 300 mm.
2.3.12 Tailgate
The tailgate is on the rear of the machine. To remove a bale open the tailgate with the controller. When you
close the tailgate with the controller, gravity will lower the tailgate and it locks mechanically. The tension of
a spring will keep the tailgate locks in position.
With the tailgate open the net knife will automatically tension.
2.3.13 Pivoted Roller
A machine with single net tying will have a pivoted roller that will move during operation.
