For best results place the skimmer in 22 - 25 cm of water. Please make sure that the skimmer is in
no more than 25.5 cm of water as the gate valve will not operate properly.
The pump must be completely submerged underwater when in use.
Plug the pump into the power outlet and switch on.
The main chamber will fill with bubbles; adjust the gate valve until the water (bubble) level is
where the collection cup meets the neck. If a wet skimmate is preferred slowly turn the gate valve
clockwise (to close). Otherwise, turn the gate valve anticlockwise for a drier skimmate.
Please open the package carefully and check for damaged or missing parts.

Never connect the AFM Marine PSK-SK5.0 Protein Skimmer (product) to the
power outlet whilst your hands are wet.
Do not allow the pump to run dry. Keep the pump submerged during operation.
Failure to do so could damage the pump and or cause failure.
Ensure that there is a drip-loop in the pump cord to prevent water running down
the cord and reaching the plug/power outlet.
Always unplug the product from the power outlet prior to the product
maintenance.
While we take great care to keep any contaminates away from our products during
manufacture please take a moment to clean the protein skimmer before use.
(only clean your protein skimmer with warm water; never clean with any soap or
chemicals and use caution when handling as acrylic scratches easily)
For best performance, please clean the collection cup frequently using a sponge and
warm water.
Regular maintenance of the pump will ensure a long life and maximum performance.
Remover any protective paper backing from the base of the skimmer and any transportation tape
from the skimmer body.
Insert the vibration absorbing rubber feet into the skimmer base plate and the pump base plate.
Connect the air hose (15mm) from the air intake on the air silencer.
Connect the water outlet of the pump to the main body of the skimmer using the short length of
38mm air hose.
Install the collection cup into the neck of the skimmer, turning gently clockwise to lock the collection
cup in position (avoid over tightening).
AFM Marine warrants this AFM Marine product to the original purchaser against
defective material and workmanship that occurs during normal non-commercial
use for 12-months from the date of purchase.
The Company will at its discretion, either repair or replace same without charge.
Said warranty is limited to replacement or repair of product only and does not
cover loss of aquarium life, personal injury, property loss, or damage arising from
use of the product. Original proof of purchase is required to validate warranty.
Exclusions:
a. Damage resulting from accident, misuse, lack of reasonabe care, subjecting the product to
abnormal working conditions or any other failure not resulting from defects in materials or
workmanship.
b. Damage resulting from modification, tampering with or attempted repair by anyone other
than the Company.
c. Transfer of the product to someone other than the original consumer or purchaser.
