To keep up with HD image processing, very powerful and efficient codecs are 
required. The latest widely adopted video codec is the H.264, which is also 
known as MPEG-4 part 10 and AVC (Advanced Video Codec). 

To give an overall feeling of “quality”, wideband audio codecs (14kHz) have 
also been coupled with HD images:
