FAQS AND TROUBLESHOOTING
Q. Does Aerohive work with Proxies?
A.
Yes, although it is recommended that Aerohive management traffic be allowed to bypass proxy servers. The ports used by
Aerohive devices are detailed in
Step 3: Open Outbound Ports.
Q. After I push a network policy, the update fails and the device temporarily loses connectivity to HiveManager. Why is this?
A.
If an Aerohive device is unable to establish HiveManager connectivity after a configuration push, it will revert to the last working
configuration after 15 minutes. The most common cause is misconfigured DNS and NTP. In this situation, it is recommended to
verify DNS and NTP settings within your Policy. They can be found under
CONFIGURATION
>
select policy
>
Additional Settings
>
DNS Server/NTP Server
. Verify the configuration and then click on
Deploy Policy.
Q. How do I change the hostname of my device?
A.
Go to
Monitor
>
select your device
>
Device Configuration
> modify hostname >
Save
. Then, on the
Monitor
page,
check the box next to your AP and click
Update Devices
.
Q. How do I upgrade the firmware of my device(s)?
A.
Navigate to
Monitor
, check the box next to your device(s) and then click
Update Devices
. Click
Upgrade HiveOS and Aerohive
Switch Images
. Select the version you wish to upgrade to and then select
Perform Update
. For Aerohive APs, the LED will flash
