Pin Assignment
Figure 3.6 shows the pin assignment of the USB-5820, and table 1-1 describes the
functions of each pin.

3.8.2
Analog Output Signal Connection
For both voltage and current output, the load should be connected between each AO
pin and the ground pin as shown in Figure 3.4 and Figure 3.5. The load resistance
must be larger than 1 k
Ω
for voltage output ranges and smaller than 625
Ω
for current
output ranges to assure proper operation of the AO function.
3.9
Analog Output Calibration
Follow the steps below for analog output calibration:
1.
Connect a digital multimeter (DMM) with resolution not less than 6.5 digits to the
AO channel to be calibrated.
2.
Select one of the AO channels to be calibrated.
3.
Select one of the output ranges to be calibrated.
4.
Select "Offset" for type and click "Start" to begin offset calibration.
5.
Compare DMM reading to "Target Value" and adjust "Parameter" value. If the
reading is too small, increase the "Parameter" value; on the other hand,
decrease the "Parameter" value. Repeat this step until DMM reading is within
the range specified by "Target Value".
6.
Click "Finish", select "Gain" for type, and click "Start" to begin gain calibration.
7.
Compare DMM reading to "Target Value" and adjust "Parameter" value. If the
reading is too small, increase the "Parameter" value; on the other hand,
decrease the "Parameter" value. Repeat this step until DMM reading is within
the range specified by "Target Value".
8.
Click "Finish" and select "Offset" for type again. Then click "Start".
9.
If DMM reading is still within the range specified by "Target Value", proceed to
the next step. Otherwise, go back to step 4.
10.
If all output ranges of current AO channel are calibrated, proceed to the next
step. Otherwise, go back to step 3 for the next output range calibration.
11.
If all AO channels are calibrated, proceed to the next step. Otherwise, go back
to step 2 for the next AO channel calibration.
12.
Analog output calibration is finished.
Users can click "Load Default" to recover all calibration parameters to factory default
values.
