Chapter 1 General Information
1.1 Introduction
The TPC-650H touch panel computer is a state-of-the-art HMI (Human
Machine Interface). This operator interface with a 5.7”display is an x86-
based platform with these key features:
• Fanless
By using a low-power processor, the system does not have to rely on
fans, which often are unreliable and causes dust to circulate inside the
equipment.
• Bright Display
The TFT LCD display suits industrial demands for clear interfaces.
• Web-based Terminal Solution
TPC-650H is designed as a Web-based terminal solution, so JavaScript
is included in the Windows operating system.
For Linux systems, we provide Mozilla Firefox.
• Windows CE Support
In addition to the OS support of Windows XP, Advantech offers plat-
form support for Windows CE and Windows XP embedded. The
optional Windows CE operating system specifically for the TPC-650H
is available for Windows CE application program builders.
