1.1 Introduction
SOM-5962, designed around the Intel® AtomTW C3000 Processor family, with COM
Express R3.0 basic module Type 7 pin out module. As a flexible design from 2 to 16
core processors. Not only just for one or two application but provide client more pur-
poses of usage. Include network routers, switches, storage, security appliances,
dynamic web serving, and more. SOM-5962 has a range of Thermal Design Power
(TDP) from 8.5 watts to 31 watts. To fulfill all kinds of demands from different user
environment and lower less energy consumption.
One important specialty to SOM-5962 is that all SKU supports four 10GBASE-KR
interfaces and one GbE high speed Ethernet function. Provide another solution to our
clients that have high speed Ethernet demand. (SOM-5992 also has 10GBase-KR
interfaces) SOM-5962 support PCIe gen3 x8, x4 and x2 and support up to 2 PCIe x8
by option. In addition, SOM-5962 offer 4pcs 260P SO-DIMM and dual Channel. Max-
imum memory size up to 128 GB and memory speed up to 2400MHz DDR4. Also
provide ECC and no-ECC selection. Let our user select which size or speed is most
suitable to them.
Advantech iManager (SUSI4) is invented to satisfy a lot of embedded application
requirements such as multi-level watchdog timer, voltage and temperature monitor-
ing, thermal protection and mitigation through processor throttling, LCD backlight on/
off and brightness control, embedded storage for customized information, etc. Com-
bining AdvantechWISE-PaaS/RMM, it can remote monitoring and controlling devices
through internet for easy maintain. All Advantech COM Express modules integrate
iManager and WISE-PaaS/DeviceOn to be an add-on value for customer’s applica-
tions.
