Installing the FSP 3000R7 

ROADM-C40/40/OPM-3HU/2DC Shelf

This section describes how to install the ROADM-C40/40/OPM-3HU/2DC Shelf 
in the equipment rack. Procedures for earthing the shelf, installing the power 
cables and testing the earthing and DC power connections are also provided 
along with relevant safety and equipment precautions.
This section contains the following subsections:

Rack Mounting the FSP 3000R7 

ROADM-C40/40/OPM-3HU/2DC Shelf

The ROADM-C40/40/OPM-3HU/2DC shelf can be mounted into 19 and 23-inch 
equipment racks. There are adapter brackets in the installation kit that are used 
to mount the shelf into a 23-inch rack. Otherwise the unit is designed to fit a 
standard 19 inch rack.

The adaptor brackets securing the shelf to the rack have two holes each.

General Considerations

When mounting ROADM-C40/40/OPM-3HU/2DC shelves into a rack, consider 
the following:

Follow the guidelines for installing shelves as called out in this 

Chapter 5: 

General Considerations

.

•

Mount ROADM-C40/40/OPM-3HU/2DC shelves according to your installa-
tion plan.

•

If you are installing the shelf in a rack, make sure that both sides of the shelf 
are accessible for power terminal block installation, or connect the power 
terminal cables before you mount the shelf.

The topmost FSP 3000R7 shelf is typically the master shelf. The 
ROADM-C40/40/OPM-3HU/2DC shelves are usually mounted below the FSP 
3000R7 shelf. Where the shelves are mounted in the rack is not mandatory. 
They can be mounted in any position in the rack. Refer to your cabling plan. For 
a typical example of how the ROADM-C40/40/OPM-3HU/2DC shelves are 
mounted, see
