to adapt the 1HU Passive Shelf to the 19-inch, ETSI as well as NEBS standard 
rack dimensions and to secure it to the rack. The 1HU Passive Shelf comes with 
no adaptor brackets pre-installed. Before mounting the shelf into the rack or 
cabinet (in the following referred to as rack) you must fit the appropriate adaptor 
bracket pair.

This section contains the following subsections:

Specialized Knowledge Required

Specialized knowledge is not required for fitting the adaptor brackets and 
mounting the 1HU Passive Shelf to a rack.

Fitting the 1HU Passive Shelf with Adaptor Brackets

This subsection describes the procedure to fit the 1HU Passive Shelf with the 
appropriate adaptor bracket pair.

Tools and Parts Required

•

Front panel rack mounting kit consisting of the following items:

1 x 19-inch rackmount bracket pair 

 o

1 x ETSI bracket pair

 o

1 x NEBS bracket pair

 o

4 x screw M5x10 CSK TORX-T25 A2 

The front panel rack mounting kit

 

is delivered with the shelf and included in 

the shipping box.

Rear panel rack mounting kit

 

consisting of the following items:

 o

1 x 19-inch rackmount bracket pair - rear

 o

1 x ETSI bracket pair -rear

 o

8 x screw M3.0x6 CSK TORX A2 (for attaching these brackets to the 
shelf 

The rear panel rack mounting kit is compatible with hardware revision 2.02 
only. This rack mounting kit is not delivered with the shelf. It must be 
ordered separately.
