Shelf. Each shelf is mounted simply by bolting its bracket pair to the rack mount-
ing rails. The rack screws are not included in deleivery.
Optionally, there is a fiber finger set for the installation in a 21-inch rack only.
Two types of the fiber finger set are available: the FIBER FINGER/2HU and the
FIBER FINGER/2HU LEFT. Each fiber finger set consists of four fingers with
spaces between the fingers. These spaces are used for routing and retaining
the optical fiber jumpers to be connected to the corresponding module. The
FIBER FINGER/2HU is fitted on the right-hand side of any 40CSM/2HU Shelf
type except for the 40CSM-FL/2HU-#19590-#19200. The FIBER FINGER/2HU
LEFT is only fitted on the left-hand side of the 40CSM-FL/2HU-#19590-#19200
shelf.
For monitoring, controlling and powering the 40CSM/2HU Shelf, its manage-
ment interface has to be connected to a management controller using the sup-
plied IEEE 1394 interface cable. See
Chapter 7: Connecting the 40CSM/2HU
in this manual.
The procedures for mounting and removing the front cover to and from a
40CSM/2HU Shelf are described in
Chapter 6: Installing System Modules
of this
manual.
For more information about the 40CSM/2HU Shelf types, refer to the
