Step 4
Insert the stripped end of the earthing conductor into the open end of
the terminal connector [ring lug for bolt size M4, two-hole lug (0.25
inch holes on 0.625 centers) or 6.3 mm Faston wire receptacle].
Step 5
Use the wire crimper to securely crimp the earthing conductor to the
appropriate terminal connector.
Step 6
Use the wire stripper to remove enough of the insulation from the
other wire end.
Step 7
Insert the stripped end of the earthing conductor into the open end of
the appropriate terminal connector, e.g. a ring lug that connects to the
earth point connector of the rack.
Step 8
Use the wire crimper to securely crimp the earthing conductor to the
appropriate terminal connector.
If required, repeat this procedure to build other earthing conductors.
End of Procedure
Connecting a Shelf to Earth
The earthing procedures described below applies for the 9HU shelf, 7HU shelf
(refers to SH7HU, SH7HU-R) and 1HU equipment shelves (in the following
referred to as shelf). You must complete one of the procedures before connect-
ing power or powering up the shelf.
WARNING
Only Service Personnel or a qualified/licensed electrician are allowed
to earth an FSP 3000R7 shelf.
WARNING
Risk of electric shock!
Follow national installation codes and regulations when making earth
connections!
Check the earth connections after assembly!
Ensure that the equipment rack or cabinet is connected to earth
ground during normal use.
Ensure that each shelf is reliably and permanently connected to the
earth point of the rack during normal use.

Note
An earthing conductor with ring lug terminals on either end is
available. It is included in the earthing kit. The earthing kit is delivered
with the equipment. For details, refer to the
Hardware Description

If the earthing kit is not used, the customer will be responsible for
providing the appropriate earthing conductor. See
