GNE Configuration: TCP/IP – Indirect Connection
To add and configure a new GNE, and access the GNE via an Indirect TCP/IP connection,
complete the following steps:
1.
Right-click the OPTI-APPS logo in the Nav Pane, and select
Add Gateway NE
.
A new GNE box appears in the Nav Pane.
2.
Enter configuration data in the Config Pane (refer to
on page 11 as needed):
• GNE Name: this
must
be the exact Target ID (TID) of the GNE
• GNE Type: select the appropriate type (the default is
ADTRAN
)
• Connection Type: select
TCP/IP – Indirect
• Server IP: enter the IP address of the Secure Server
• GNE IP: enter the IP address of the GNE
3.
Click
Connect
.
A new window appears, displaying a login prompt for the secure server (

4.
At the Login prompt, enter an appropriate login ID for the server, and press ENTER.
5.
At the Password prompt, enter the password for the login ID entered, and press ENTER.
6.
Click
Connect To GNE
.
A successful telnet connection to the GNE should appear, similar to the example below:
# telnet 10.25.15.1 2001
Trying 10.25.15.1...
Connected to 10.25.15.1.
Escape character is '^]'.
7.
Click
Verify TL1 Conn
to confirm the IP address of the GNE is correctly entered.
