VIDEOSTUDIO 6 AND USB INSTANT VIDEO:
USB INSTANT VIDEO can capture analog video and audio into sev-
eral formats. The most popular kinds are AVI and MPEG1 (VCD).
AVI file capture is popular for turning video into email attachments
or for streaming video on the web. VideoStudio 6 can easily con-
vert AVI files into various streaming formats.
MPEG1 or VCD (Video CD) is used for making VIDEO CD (VCD)
disk’s that can play in most DVD PLAYERS.
To create a VCD project and burn it to disk, a CD BURNER would
be required.
CONFIGURING VIDEOSTUDIO 6 TO CAPTURE
IN VCD FORMAT
1. Run VideoStudio 6. Click START on the Step Panel.
2. Click NEW PROJECT. This opens the New Project dialog box.
3. Specify a path to store captured files to be used in the project.
4. Select NTSC VCD or PAL VCD. NTSC is the TV STANDARD that
is used in the USA, CANADA, MEXICO and JAPAN. PAL is the TV
STANDARD in use in EUROPE, SOUTH AMERICA, AUSTRALIA and
MOST OF WORLD.
5. Click OK.
6. Go to the CAPTURE Step. Be sure you are in CAPTURE mode.
7. Specify the length of video you want to capture by entering the
timecode in the Capture duration entry box. (If you don’t specify a
length before capturing, you can stop the capture manually by
pressing escape.)
8. Click OPTIONS in the CAPTURE SETTINGS Tab.
9. In the CAPTURE OPTIONS dialog box, select Capture to Library
if you want to add the video clip into the library. By doing this, you
make the video clip available for other projects.
10. Click OPTIONS again in the CAPTURE SETTINGS Tab of the
