Getting Started
This chapter describes the installation of the following
components:
X
VPX Blade installation to chassis
X
RTM installation to chassis
6.1 Installing the VPX3001 to the Chassis
These instructions are for reference only. Refer to the user guide
that comes with the chassis for more information.
1. Be sure to select the system slot to install the blade. The
system power may now be powered on or off.
2. Align the module's top and bottom edges to the chassis
card guides, and then carefully slide the module into the
chassis. A slight resistance may be felt when inserting
the module. If the resistance it too strong, check if there
are wedge lock screwed or if the board's connector pins
are not properly aligned with connectors on the back-
plane. Then push the board until it is completely flush
with the chassis.
3. Ensure the module in place, and then screw the wedge
lock on the module
6.2 Installing the VPX-R3001 to the Chassis
The installation and removal procedures for a RTM are the same as
those for VPX boards. Because they are shorter than front boards,
pay careful attention when inserting or removing RTMs.
Refer to previous sections for peripheral connectivity of all I/O ports
on the RTM. When installing the VPX3001 Series and related
RTMs, make sure the RTM is the correct matching model.
