Getting Started
This chapter describes the installation of the and VPX3000 blade
and VPX-R300 rear transition module.
5.1 Installing the VPX3000 to the Chassis
These instructions are for reference only. Refer to the user guide
that comes with the chassis for more information.
1. Be sure to select the system slot to install the blade. The
system power may be powered either on or off.
2. Align the module's top and bottom edges to the chassis
card guides, and then carefully slide the module into the
chassis. A slight resistance may be felt when inserting the
module. If the resistance is too strong, check if there the
wedge locks are tightened or if the board's connector pins
are not properly aligned with connectors on the backplane.
Then push the blade into the slot until it is completely flush
with the chassis.
3. With the blade properly inserted, tighten the wedge locks to
secure it to the chassis.
5.2 Installing the VPX-R300 to the Chassis
The installation and removal procedures for a RTMs are the same
as those for VPX blades. Because they are shorter than front
boards, pay careful attention when inserting or removing RTMs.
Refer to previous sections for peripheral connectivity of all I/O
ports on the RTM. When installing the VPX3000 Series and
related RTMs, make sure the RTM is the correct matching model.
