Module Features
LEDs
The ADLINK AMC-8100 module has 5 LEDs. In addition to the
AMC required Blue Hot Swap (HS) LED and the red Out Of Ser-
vice (OOS) LED the ADLINK AMC-8100 module also has a heart-
beat LED. This green led will blink when the LSIFC949E internal
processor is running.
The other 2 LEDs are associated with each Fibre Channel port.
These LEDs are tri-colored and are described in Figure 8-1: AMC-
8100 Front Panel Indicators on Page 51.
Connectors
This section provides a description of the connectors on the
ADLINK AMC-8100 module. See Figure 3-1: AMC-8100 Func-
tional Block Diagram on Page 11 for connector locations.
AMC Fingers:
The PCI Express interface has eight PCI Express
phys, which provide possible host-side maximum transmission
and reception rates of up to 4.0 Gbytes/s. The PCI Express con-
nection is made through the AMC edge connector. The signal def-
initions and pin numbers conform to the AMC.0 and AMC.3
specifications.
SFP Cages:
The ADLINK AMC-8100 module supports 2 ports of
Fibre Channel connections through the SFP’s on the front panel.
Physical Characteristics
The ADLINK AMC-8100 module board is 7.11 inches x 2.89
inches and conforms to the component height requirements of a
compact size module. PCI Express x8 connection is made through
the AMC edge fingers.
