Direct Mount Wheels
1.
To remove the direct mount wheel(s), unscrew the lock nut (3/4-16 LLN or 1/2” LN)
with an adjustable wrench.
2.
To install a new wheel, screw on the lock nut (3/4-16 LLN or 1/2” LN).
Quick Release Axle Pin for Wheels
(A quick release wheelchair wheel axle allows for fast and easy
removal of 1/2” diameter quick release wheelchair axle pins.
1.
To remove the axle pin, push in the quick release wheelchair axle pin head (ADI logo)
and then pull the pin out towards your body to remove.
2.
To install a new wheel, place wheel hub into axle and install the quick release axle pin
into the hub until you hear a clicking sound. Note: if the axle pin doesn’t click, rotate
the pin until it clicks. If it still doesn’t click you need to loosen the nut on the axle pin.
Handrim
Wheels
1. Tools and Hardware Needed
Phillips #2 screwdriver
3/8” Combination wrench
(6) - 10/32 thread, 7/16” long
(6) - 10/32 thin nylon-insert lock nut
2. Remove the old Handrim
Remove the screws that mount the handrim to the wheel using the Phillips
screwdriver.
2. Install the new Handrim
If needed, bend the tabs slowly
in to line up to the wheel holes.
Ensure that the handrim is being installed on the outside of the wheel (the side
where the wheel push-pin is located).
Install the screw on the outside of the wheel and the lock nut on the inside of the
wheel, tightening the screws in a criss-cross pattern.
